stop pushing me

The moment endurance becomes a boundary, where pressure that was absorbed in silence gets named, and you stop being moved by external force and start setting the terms of your own momentum.

Pushing production

With this song, I really started to get the workflow down for the AI components of the song. I designed an app for myself that I use to explore the story and sound. It greatly sped up the prompting iteration so I could explore whatever inspiration was coming in the moment rather than focus on the tech. It is definitely a way to explore creativity I’ve never experienced. There is still work to do, but it is freeing.

The story of stop pushing me

stop pushing me marks the moment when endurance turns into articulation.

Up to this point in the story, you have been absorbing pressure without naming it. Expectations, momentum, and external forces have been applied steadily — sometimes subtly, sometimes insistently — and they have kept moving, adapting, holding themselves together.

But here, something changes.

The opening of the song still lives in restraint and tension. Motion continues, but it is no longer neutral. The pressure has become unmistakable, and the act of enduring it now requires conscious effort. The body remembers every push.

As the energy builds, the world narrows. The familiar rhythms that once guided forward movement begin to feel imposed rather than supportive. When everything suddenly drops away, the silence isn’t relief — it’s exposure. The absence forces clarity.

In that clarity, you recognize the truth: the force acting on you is not inevitable — it is applied.

The second half of the song is not rebellion, but reclaiming agency.

Instead of pushing back, you change your relationship to the force itself. You stop reacting and begin choosing when and how to move. The push and pull becomes internal, self-regulated, rhythmic.

The title stop pushing me is not a plea or an outburst. It is a statement drawn quietly but firmly.

By the end of the song, you are no longer being moved by external pressure. You are in motion — but on your own terms. The trance-like propulsion that carries the track forward represents a state where momentum belongs to the self, not to whatever was trying to accelerate you.

Nothing is destroyed. No confrontation occurs. But a boundary is established.

This song captures the moment when pressure stops being tolerated and starts being defined — the exact point where the larger transformation becomes irreversible, even if it hasn’t yet revealed its full shape.

A low-poly figure lies submerged in dark water with one hand reaching up above the surface, palm balancing a floating cube and small sphere, surrounded by rippling reflections in shades of teal and black.

Story disclaimer

I swear. I’m not trying to make the song into something it isn’t by wrapping a story around it. Maybe I’ll write something about the process at some point. One of the biggest unlocks for me with generative AI in the mix is the ability to explore sound and music within the context of a story. The story is part of the writing process. More stories to come…
