Why AI in workflow is mostly about taste
The gap between using AI and using it well comes down to judgment, not tooling.
Everyone has the same models now. The tools are a commodity. What isn’t a commodity is knowing what’s worth making, what to throw away, and when the output is almost right in a way that’s worse than wrong.
That judgment is taste. It’s the thing AI can accelerate but can’t supply. The people getting the most out of these tools aren’t the ones with the cleverest prompts — they’re the ones who already knew what good looked like and now get there faster.
The gap between using AI and using it well has never been about the tooling. It’s about having an opinion.
